Sudah April

it's April already. time flies bah. i'm counting the days to pack and leave kk to go back home for a short break before i leave town for about 10 weeks. im accepting the industrial training offer from Orogenic GeoSolutions in Bukit Jelutong, Shah Alam. if luck is on my side (plus excellent performance throughout the duration of training) they will offer me to work with them. YATTA!!

i have always wanted to travel and work in the peninsular. not that there is no job for me back in sarawak but i think - i'm still young and this is the best time for me to travel and see the world. (from Sarawak to Peninsular kira overseas lah jugak kan? :P)

these two weeks im torn apart. really. i had another offer for internship from ENSR-Aecom. an environmental impact assessment cum consultancy company lah. its located in Damansara - yes - and i h
ave tried asking around for a room to rent. my junior - Inthiram - told me that the cheapest he can find so far is MYR350 per month. but he has no idea how far it is from ENSR. and the allowance i can get is MYR600 at most. macam mana nak hidup dengan MYR250 je sebulan.

its not about the allowance la. its about the place to stay je sebenarnya. the company is actually quite big. ok, not quite, but really BIG.

http://www.ensr.aecom.com <--can check out
their website here. im honored that they find me as the best candidate among all 16 of us who went for the interview a month ago. but i feel guilty to reject now since:
  1. the country manager called me personally asking if im still interested to join their internship programme.
  2. the project manager who came to my uni and interviewed me called me the night after the country manager called has been super nice to me contacting me by email and text messages asking if i have already made up my mind to join the company etc.
my fault lah jugak sebab macam leading them on to my acceptance of the offer. sigh. dad was in town for the last 3 days. so i went to see him. we had lunch/tea at NewYorkNewYork 1Borneo and try to sort things out. turns out daddy wants me to jumpstart my carrier in exploration and production based company in the oil and gas industry. i was actually quite okay with anything that goes beacuse due to the economic crisis, you cant "pilih-pilih kerja" that much you know. once you have an opening, go for it! and most importantly i dont want to become a sister's friend who graduates in geophysics from USM but end up teaching back in Sarawak. NO. NO. NO. so my mind is made up. well, most of it dad helped me weigh the pros and cons of joining either company. i told him how guilty i felt but he says its all part of the working world. okaylah.

im not sure if my final year project has any value of some sort. because i know i didnt put 1000% effort in getting it done. i dont understand why - that when most of my friends who handed in their results for the supervisor to check, the supervisor would then adjust the findings to a value close to theoretical value. i mean WTF! why would you bother to ask us to carry out the experiments - especially Proctor and Permeability yang amat susah itu - and in the end just change the value????? might as well just give us a set of numbers or datas to choose from and come up with a solution and write a whole fucking 500pages thesis about it. sigh. yes, i cursed. then again, i dont give a damn about this Project 2. why should i sacrifice the other 15-credit hour subject for this 3-credit hour project? (for my juniors who's reading this, jangan dengar cakap saya. kadang-kadang saya ni gila juga orangnya)

i missed going for a swim with R. we would challenge each other to jump into the pool or hold our breath as long as possible under water + tickling each other + kissing underwater. yeap! just a smooch anyways. not the sloppy french-tongue-kiss ya. haha! most of all, im going to miss Luna - my bunny-chan. my joint-venture partner Mama Bella has yet to decide who's going to take her home. its either she's going to follow me on a plane to Sarawak or to be posted to Semenanjung with her Mama Bella.

decisions..decisions..decisions...

so yeah, Orogenics it is. :P
